Mu Alpha Theta

This morning we had Mu Alpha Theta inductions (that’s the math honor society at our school).* Instead of doing the traditional evening ceremony, with a speaker, dinner, and inductions, this year we did a 7:45-8:15 before-school breakfast. There was a short speech by the head of the Upper School, and then the kids got inducted, in front of some of their peers and all of their parents.

I really like having an opportunity to recognize kids who work really hard, and are really invested in more than just classes; kids who have a true passion for intellectual inquiry. Sometimes we need to take a moment back and give a round of applause. Huzzah!

*As well as Cum Laude inductions (that’s the liberal arts honor society at our school).

  1. I am the Mu alpha theta sponsor this year. I really enjoy interacting with these great, curious, interesting kids. Especially since I teach resource kids daily. We will be having our induction right after school in the commons with a reception. The current members are planning it. I can’t wait to see what they come up with!
