Going Deep

Today I tried my first clothesline activity! I gave students characteristics of mathematicians and asked them to rank them. Then we did a Plicker survey with several questions about mindset and math ability. I ended it by asking students which characteristic would be a challenge for them to try. They each picked one and then I asked them why it was valuable even though it was uncomfortable. 

After they shared their thoughts, one student said “I feel like we’re going to go deep in this class!”
