I shamelessly stole the title of “Varsity Math” for my AP Calculus class- hoping to build some pride and ownership in the class, encourage growth in the program, and the team-atmosphere that flows well with my teaching style. They’ve bought into it, and love joking about who the best “Varsity Math golfer” or best “Varsity Math musician” is. Today, I was out for their class, and they also decided who the “starters” on the Varsity math team would be. (In all good fun). The 2-in-the-back are the AP Calculus BC students who are in that period with them. Definitely on the starting roster.
Sometimes missing a day is good for the soul.
