I asked every class today if there was anything we needed to talk about and every class said no. While I feel guilty that I didn’t specifically mention the chaos at the Capitol, I feel good that I asked and I was willing to listen if they wanted to. Normally I would be too nervous to even ask.
I love that my seniors who don’t have me in class anymore find small reasons to come visit me: they need a broom or a cup of water or lotion. Just another reason why I like being the teacher who has everything.
Today I had nothing I needed to do on my plan period and I left school at 3:00 again.
Today I am thankful for structure and routine and a casual, warm classroom environment.
