Day 84

I timed my Geometry classes well today and was able to fit in my favorite bell ringer Mental Math Monday, review problems, and a non-rushed quiz. 🤪

It’s real boring but we talked through practice problems on the whiteboard and then I used warm up problems from my curriculum on the smart board for them to work out on their own, leaving our whiteboard problems up as an example.

After school I had two student stay for extra help and three IG dm’s and an email asking for help. I love when they ask questions, even more when it’s not face to face and requires more effort.

In one of my Algebra II classes, I only have two students (started with 5 hybrid, 1 switched schools, 2 dropped 😔). They are behind my other sections so I’ve been really pushing them. One student who has struggled in previous years has started to grow before my eyes. I’m not sure what the difference is but today he only missed half a point on his complex numbers quiz.

The overwhelming majority of my students are doing what I’m asking them to do and doing well so I’m choosing to focus on that and not on the 8 who…aren’t.
