I hadn’t seen my third hour (my only Precalc section) since Wednesday, the day before we pivoted to Distance Learning. I pushed their quiz to today but they were on their own to review since I didn’t see them Thursday or Friday.
Every single kid showed up today. Every single kid submitted a scan of their quiz. Every single kid even turned in their homework packet.
It’s been such an insane year in terms of absences. Even though this is a small class, I don’t think I’ve ever had them all there for a quiz or test.
So to have all their quizzes in and graded on the same day is no small thing.
I’m grateful for this time to get us all back on the same page, independent of if they’re quarantined or not. I’m starting to feel like we’re all together again, even if it’s on a screen. I’m starting to feel like the number of plates spinning is decreasing. I’m starting to feel like I can breathe again.
