Overheard today in Precalc: I’m actually really understanding logarithms this year…”

Sometimes you present a series of questions scaffolded just right that a little bit of magic happens. These are the questions the kids answered today (they had just watched an intro to solving exponential and log equations). There’s nothing amazing about any of the questions at all. But together, and in this order, they seemed to reveal how powerful the tools we have really are:

I love that I get to play a part in these students becoming creative and knowledgeable mathematicians. And I love that there’s still so much room for me to grow, too.
