My day started with some of last year’s kids stopping by to say hello. Just like their classmates who dropped in last week, they were shocked by how different our classroom looks this year. Last spring we had desks in spaced out rows. This year my couch is back, small and larger tables are back, our carpet is back. It looks like my classroom usually looks.
Aside from the huge hugs I got, my favorite moment was watching them search the room for some familiar things. I have a cloud hanging in my room and their joy at seeing it again was such a delight for me. We dedicate so much to kids for a year and then have to let them go. But we don’t really let them go, they stay with us. It’s wonderful when they are around in person some too!
