Circuit

I wanted to take some time today to just breathe for a bit and review what we’ve done in the unit…without giving a regular worksheet.

I made a “circuit,” which is basically an at-your-seat scavenger hunt. Kids start with Question #1. Then the answer to that question leads them to a different box with a different question. They label this Question #2 and so on. The answer to the last question should take them back to the first box.

Every class worked until the bell, several even staying after because they wanted to get one more question done or finish the circuit.

I love how well they work together, how they are learning to use appropriate vocabulary, how they catch each other’s mistakes and work together to correct them.

I have definitely stretched them this year, especially in comparison to the last two years and all that the education sector endured.

Not surprisingly, there have been growing pains.

Also not surprisingly, they are rising to the challenge. I hope they can see how far they’ve come already…
