In our first period class, a student had their birthday, so we celebrated it with the birthday song. And I have a birthday crown, and they decided to wear it during class, which is always fun.
In our second period class, students were weirdly rambunctious and doing weird hand gestures to describe the function transformation review we had on the board, and it was comical and made me laugh, and I was in high spirits because they were in high spirits.
In our third period class, I felt like last week I did a terrible job teaching this class on Friday. And today I feel like I did better, and so I was happy about that.
And I went down for lunch early, and they had this brie, pumpkin seed, leafy greens of some sort, and hot honey wrap which was so good. I’m regretting only getting one of them.
And I just checked my personal email, and got an email from a stranger saying: “I am a teacher and I just wanted to express how useful your resources have been for me. I really like to read up and investigate on new ways to explore learning and how to be the best I can be at my job and I am grateful for sources such as yourself who help people to achieve this.” I’ve felt bad that I haven’t posted any good things on my teaching blog in forever, but I forget that the old stuff from the last umpteenth years of teaching are there and it’s nice to know it’s not just sitting there but sometimes people find it useful!
