Professional Development

Students start next week so this is the week full of classroom set up, meetings, and professional development. This morning I’m spending three hours in a required professional development that I have been dreading for a lot of reasons. I got here early in the hopes that not feeling rushed would have me in a better mental space. To my great delight, a former colleague showed up for the same professional development. We taught together almost twenty years ago and I haven’t seen her in quite a while. Her wisdom and thoughtful and practicality helped me get through the morning. And we got to take a selfie together and send it to mutual friends!
