I’m working on the easily distracted and always talking boys in my loud class by calling them in instead of calling them out. If I’m constantly calling on them to tell me how to set the problem up and how to solve it then they don’t have time to otherwise talk. It’s not going as fast as I wish but newsflash: NOTHING EVER DOES. Plodding forward consistently until we gain some momentum.

I had my student council members set a reminder to check the group chat every day at a specific time. It’s so nice to get immediate responses when I need them.

Middle school boys energy levels. Period.
